Revolution Plus for cats is a simple-to-apply topical medicine for protection against fleas, ticks, mites, and parasitic nematodes. The medicine is available as a colorless to yellow solution in single-dose tubes. It is used in cats and kittens from as young as eight weeks and weighs 2.8lbs (1.27 kg) and older.
Revolution Plus contains two active pharmaceutical ingredients, selamectinvesarolaner.
Selamectin belongs to the avermectin class, and it acts by killing a wide range of invertebrate parasites via paralysis. Sarolaner is a broad-spectrum parasiticide that acts by causinguncontrolled neuromuscular activity leading to the death of ticks and fleas.

The application process is easy and starts with removing the tube from its protective package. Next is to puncture the seal, part the hair at the base of the cat’s skull, and squeeze the tube’s content three to four times on the visible skin of the cat. Ensure the tube’s content is empty before discarding it.
Is Revolution Plus suitable for Cats?
Revolution Plus is suitable for kittens from 8 weeks old and for adult cats. It’s suitable for treating cats regardless of whether they have heartworm infestation. However, it has not been cleared for use in breeding, pregnant or lactating cats.
The medicine can also be administered in conjunction with other cat medicines.
For cats over 22 lbs (10kg), Revolution Plus should be administered with the appropriate combination of tubes.
What are the side effects of Revolution Plus?
The common side effects of the Revolution Plus are drowsiness and temporary hearing loss. No side effects are noted on the combination of Revolution Plus with other veterinary products. However, on observing any unusual sign or activity in your cat after administration of the medicine, you must report it to your veterinarian.
What precautions should be taken during administration?
There are only a few precautions when using this product. Revolution Plus is a member of the isoxazoline class, so exercise caution in cats with a history of neurologic disorders like seizures. People administering the medicine should avoid contact with the skin and eyes as it may cause irritation.

Do not massage the medicine into the skin
Avoid application when the haircoat is wet
Revolution Plus contains alcohol, so avoid application on broken skin
Once the tube’s content is empty, discard in the refuse bin

Revolution Plus starts killing fleas on cats 6 hours immediately after application. Clinical trials show that 100% reduction in adult fleas for at least 35 days. It also interrupts their life cycle killing them before they lay eggs. It also reduces signs of flea allergy dermatitis.
